I could spend an entire blog gushing about my Christmas and how amazing it was but I will spare you the cheese and get to the Christmas Cliff's Notes: tons of family, food, drink, and presents. My Grammy had a couple too many glasses wine. I'm so proud of her!
Here's Grammy napping....

The Fam at dinner....

Now, on to a more important topic. Movies. Well, one movie in particular. Marley and Me. I read the book a couple years ago and absolutely loved it. Well, I love dogs and knew I was going to LOVE this movie too, so, I went to see it today. Going to the movies by myself during the week in another reason I love my job. They have a weekday special: $5 ticket, $5 unlimited soda and popcorn. I've never actually refilled my soda or popcorn but still....$5 for both is a bargain!
Anyway, back to point. Marley and Me. Owen and Jen were hysterical (although I may be biased as I LOVE Jen and Owen and I have secretly been dating for years). And the dog is so funny! If you love dogs this movie will make you laugh and cry! Now, I'm all for a sappy movie. I love a movie that will make you cry. Armageddon. When Liv is saying good-bye to her dad? Cry. My Dog Skip. Cry. The Way We Were. Hysterical crying. 8 below. Cry. But do they actually have to show you putting ole Marley down? At the vet? With those big brown eyes begging Owen to take him home? Sure, the dog was like 100ish (I don't know the actual age; but old) and sick but still...I didn't need to see it.
Especially since we have a puppy in our family that is 16! Yes, 16! But Ginger is still the sweetest thing in the world...even if she gets 'misplaced' and turned around and can barely hear/see anything! She was still there for most of my teenage years! She witnessed all the tragic clothing choices, boys, fights with my mom....And STILL gets up to greet me when I arrive at my parents!
