Leg/Hand/Gravel Debacle 2009

I managed to fall off my bike. Ok, laugh if you want but seriously, my leg is really f'ed up. F'd up like a 8 year old boy. I can't believe it. It happened on Monday night and today (Wednesday) it finally stopped bleeding. It really freakin hurts.

Boyfriend and I were riding on a trail near my house (maaaaaybe I was going a little faster on a gravel trail that I had technically never ridden on before, than I should) when I saw these ladies walking toward me, so, I got as far over the right as I could and at that exact moment the trail cut a sharp left and I was on the ground. Boyfriend was awesome. He stood there and asked if I was OK and didn't get excitable when I just laid there holding my knee until I had mentally assessed the rest of my body and finally generated enough courage to remove my hand and look at the damage. Oh my, I felt like crying.

(I didn't, well, that is until baby sis decided it would be a good idea to pour hydrogen peroxide on my open wound. Theeeen, I cried like a baby).

Anyway, I think I'm gonna live but until I can bend my leg and straighten it again without whining like a baby; I'm gonna be pretty mad about how incredible lame I am....

So now I'm really nervous about my triathlon on Sunday. I'm hoping my leg heals fast!
