We are married. We did it. Engaged to married from October to January. The planning is over. The details hashed out. The anticipation built and vows said. He’s mine. For all the days of my life. It’s amazing how quickly the whole thing passed. When I started planning 3 months ago seemed like a lifetime; it wasn’t. I was busy down to the last moment and everything pretty much turned out exactly the way we wanted. The perfect size. The perfect guests. The perfect wedding party. The perfect time...basically the perfect day!
We invited our closest friends and family. And for the most part everyone we invited came. There was some family from far away lands that couldn’t make it but we were extremely happy with the turnout! All of our friends met each other. Our parents met all our friends and DaShaun and I knew or at least had met almost all the guests prior to the ceremony. There was very little meet my long lost family twice removed whom even I haven’t seen for years and years….it was all very casual and informal. It was perfect! There was no catching up on our lives….which I think made it soooo much more relaxed. Less polite chit chat and more silly stories. Our guests naturally sat with other guests they identified with and everyone appeared to be having fun! So that made us very happy!
Looking back I wish there had been more time. It was nice having all the people we love in one place. And I wish I would have designated someone to be in charge of taking pictures with my camera. I basically have pics from before and after but nothing in between!
Anyway, I’m in love with my husband and I’m ready to start living our lives together. We have a summer full of races, trips, and fun planned and I can’t wait to celebrate our first anniversary!
