And we’re back. Honeymoon/Coachella 2010 was a week filled of funny stories and moments proving once again Hubs and I aren’t as young as we used to be….when it’s all said and done Hubs and I would rather get massages instead of knocking around outside with 74,993 strangers. We had intended on “broadening our musical horizons” at Coachella. What actually happened? We proved weak and unable to hang with the young-uns….the young-uns we were hanging out with started drinking the moment they arrived (they call themselves Team Blackout SW Chapter) and Hubs and I only drank a couple times the entire week.
Coachella Day 1: After almost not getting in (stupid ticketmaster tickets) we tried our best to stay the whole day but seriously, it was hot, we were sweaty/hungry and there wasn't anyone we really wanted to see til the evening--so what would two old married people do instead of head to the beer tent and fight through it? Leave our hardcore friends and head home to eat, shower, and take it easy until Benny Benassi, Jay-Z, and Deadmau5 that evening. (Best descision ever!) We we got back we were refreshed and ready to fist pump! Benny was awesome. Jay-Z only performed one song I knew and 5 days later we (Hubs and I) are still wondering the meaning of, “get your diamonds up!” (Jay-Z, what does that even mean? Hubs and I are dying to know.) Then Deadmau5, he debuted his new light up mouse head---very cool, but we didn’t stay for the entire set and we were out of there with Amy and Alex (Alex was all “fist pumped” out and was napping on the outskirts---he should of hung with Hubs and I! ) We made it out of there before all the traffic and was sound asleep by 12.
Coachella Day 2: We learned our lesson about spending the entire day at the Fest the day before so we went just before the djs we wanted to see: Dirty South, Bassnectar, Kaskade, David Guetta, and Tiesto. We spend the day by the pool, relaxing in the lazy river and then finally headed over around 5. Guetta was awesome! Tiesto played the same set as he played when we saw him in KC a few months ago but it was a totally different show outside. And Hubs is in love with Kaskade! Oh, and I got my very first fedora. So, all in all, Day 2 was a complete success. We left before Tiesto was over; we wanted to miss the traffic and get to bed but the day was so much fun!
Coachella Day 3: Oh, that’s right…we didn’t go to Coachella Day 3. We got massages and spent some time at the spa, laid by the pool, and napped. It was awesome! That’s also when our sinus’ started acting up.
Since we’ve been home we’ve been super sick. I could write 10 posts about our Honeymoon and I’m sure as I start to feel a little better I will feel more like writing but for now, that’s the rundown.
