Resolutions? Goals?

So, with 2010 gone and 2011 here.  It might be time to state some resolutions/goals for the year.

(For the record, on Dec 31st Hubs and I resolved to NOT order pizza in the month of January.  Can you guess what we had for a late dinner on January 2nd?)

In 2011 I resolve to:
  • Be more patient with Hubs.  And Tyson.
  • do at least some type of physical activity everyday, even if it's just walking the dogs.
  • do at least SOME laundry every day (or week.)
  • call my sister at least once a week.  Even if we have nothing substantial to say...
  • Finally learn how to knit.  I said I was going to do this with my Grammy but that didn't happen so it's all up to me now.
  • Get back to reading.  I used to read a 3 or 4 books a month an now I'm struggling to get past the 'sample' portions when I read on my Nook.
Sure these resolutions may seem easy, and maybe they are...but the point isn't to make goals/resolutions that are hard; the point is to make a difference.  And these goals would definitely make a difference. So, I'll keep you updated on the progress of the aforementioned resolutions.

I have a feeling this year is gonna be different.

What are your resolutions?

Mountain Dew and Pilates Don't Mix

Yeah, I know it's Tuesday. But hey, better late than never (never, as in: I didn't even do one last week).

Ok
so my new healthy lifestyle has been going pretty good; minus the vast consumption of booze last night. Don't judge me. Every girl needs a break every now and again. And I'm back on the wagon today. Officially. No. More. Drinking. (Until I have another random Monday and then, I'll get back on the wagon...AGAIN)

Hurrays:
  • I went to the gym everyday. I did cardio class, weight lifting class, yoga, and Pilates (and hottie was in class again. So. Hot. And we talked. Well, he talked and I said something totally ridiculous. So, that might be considered talking? Oh, and if I can give one tip? Never drink an entire Diet Mountain Dew before Pilates. Pilates is suppose to be all serene and precise; I was all jittery and awkward.)
  • I ate sooo much better. I only strayed from my chicken/veggies/salad/protein bar diet once. And it was for Waldos Pizza (the greatest pizza in all the land) and then I felt soooo terrible for eating it, I went back to the gym and did 30 minutes on the treadmill.
  • I've been sleeping less (oh man, I love to sleep)
  • My pants are all starting to fit again
  • Roomie ate all the cookies in the house so there is less temptation

Boooos:

  • Drank my weight in booze last night
  • Waldos pizza last week (in my defense, I only ate half of a 10in thin crust and went back to the gym after, hey, it makes me feel better)
  • I'm still not eating breakfast
  • I drank Mt Dew before Pilates (that is one painful hour of my life I will never get back)

So, all in all, I think I'm doing pretty good. I'm headed to the gym tonight to hopefully sweat out some of the damage I did last night. I'm making chicken stir fry for dinner and I've officially drank 1000 oz of water today (well, that might be a bit of an exaggeration but it sure feels like I've drank that much).

And I'm thinking about the P90x workout emphasis on thinking. Not doing. Just thinking.
