Back to School

I don't think I've mentioned that I've gone back to finish my undergrad. I know. Lame. How can any self respecting 29 year old born in the 70's not have finished their undergrad? Well let me tell you....life. It gets in the way.

Well, anyway, it was quite an adjustment for me to juggle work, relationship, family, and school. But I think I've finally got it figured out....or at least I hope so.

I'm taking 12 hours. A full time student with a full time job. And 9/12 hours are going GREAT! That last 3 though....not so much. It's online. With hours and hours of reading and video lectures and listening assignments. Since it's online and at your own pace I might have gotten behind before I even got started and the first test consisted of me cramming for like 4 hours and then going to take it...I failed. Miserably.

So, I went to talk to Profess. He was understanding and assigned some extra credit to help get me caught up. And I did it. And it helped. And then he gave me another assignment and it helped too.

Well, tonight I took the 2nd test. And I think I did pretty good. I guessed on 5 questions but other than that I think I did well. For this test, I studied a little along the way and when it came time to take the test I felt nervous but prepared so I guess the studying and not cramming works....

And that my friends is how a lame 29 year old without a college degree figures college out all over again....it's much harder the second time around :)

Best of luck to you. I actually miss my college life sometimes.

Not lame. It's actually admirable. I think that some people at your age who hasn't finished their studies also may have lost their hope already. But there you are, reaching for your dreams while fulfilling your other responsibilities. Way to go! You can do it!
