You Will Never Work In This Town Again...

Dear Kyle Garst,

I was never able to formally thank you for my premature firing. Also, if you see Anita, could you thank her for the extra 140 hours of vacation time I was paid on my final check?

Thank you,

Jillian

*I saw Kyle at the Panera today. I wanted to go up to him and tell him that; but I couldn't get up the nerve. It's amazing how so many feelings remain after such a long time...

(He fired me because I failed to keep up appearances of productivity during the month of limbo between the announcement of my severance and the actual severance being delivered.)

Yeah, I took a two hour lunch break. And spent most of the day emailing my best friend while shopping for a new wake board online. What of it? You didn't want us to sell anything anyway....

When he came to my office to let me go. He said I lacked the maturity and integrity to ever make it in "real "corporate America. Two months later they closed down. The FBI raided the office. And no severances were ever paid.

Well, he was right; I didn't have the maturity/integrity to scam thousands of people out their money. Kyle was relieved of his duties at Brooke shortly after I left and I heard he was due to be indicted in the next couple weeks.

It turns out Kyle Garst did me a huge favor cause had I not been fired; I would still be waiting for my severance...

I agree! This is one those moments when you realize that everything happens for a reason. You're still lucky.
