Erin Made Me Do It

My free schedule in work (and in unemployment) has afforded me a lot of extra time to see movies.  Movies during the week are so much better than on the weekends; no screaming high schoolers or mile long lines at the popcorn counter...it's movie theater bliss. 

Anyway, Hubs enjoys a movie now and then too.  And on more than one occasion he has tried to take me to the theater only to be shut down with a mumbled, "I might have already seen that one," and he is usually pretty ok with it. 

On the opening night of New Moon he was trying to be the bestest husband in the world.  He came home from work: 

Hubs:  Well I suppose you want to go see New Moon?  Let's go see it.

Me:  You wanna see New Moon?  You know it's a bunch of shirtless dudes running around in the forest right?

Hubs:  Yeah, but I know you want to see it so let's go.

Me:  I miiiiiiiiight have already seen it this morning....

Hubs:  Whaaat?  Who did you see it with? 

Me:  Erin Heide (somehow when this conversation ensues I say Erin Heide in a way that makes it sound like I'm telling on her.  "Who made you do it?"  Erin Heide!)

Hubs:  (Obviously hurt) You went to the movie without me?  And you didn't even tell me?

Me: Uhhhhh yeah.  Can we still be friends?

Hubs:  I like watching shirtless dudes movies too you know? 

Me:  Yeah, I know.  I'm sorry.  I'll make sure and ask you to go too next time.

Well, that time has come again (movies with E.H that is) and when Hubs heard he went straight to Facebook and posted this on poor Erin's wall:

Dear Erin,
Just because your husband doesn't enjoy going to the movies doesn't mean that Jillian's husband feels the same way.  I enjoy going to the movies. Please stop taking Jillian to all the good movies without me.

PS. Sorry about the above message. I think I have a great idea.  I just told Jillian the top 3 movies that I don't want to see. Please enjoy seeing any of those when you go on your date.

Hubs: Brooklyn's Finest, Valentine’s Day, Crazy Heart

Erin: Hum...we'll see what we can do with this list...no promises :)

YES!  Sounds like we are still seeing good movies...and now I can OFFICIALLY blame it Erin!!
