Who Needs a House? We Have Two...

As you all already know....I lost my job.  And without a job I have all the time in the world for blogging, laundry, training and worrying about how we are going to pay for two homes on one income.  Both of our houses are on the market....maybe you are looking for a new home?

 I called my mortgage company today to find out about their ‘homeowner assistance’ program.  It turns out I can utilize any one of these three departments:  

• Loan modification


• Refinance


• Collection Team

 Now, in my mind that seemed like a lot of options, surely one of these avenues will lead to a financial savior.  Not so much.  I don’t qualify for a loan modification b/c I do not make enough on my anticipated unemployment.  I don’t qualify for a refinance b/c I don’t have a job.  And finally, the collection team practically laughed at me b/c I’m not behind on my payments.

                Soooo, in short: We can’t help you until one of these things happen:  1. you get a job and then we will gladly lower your monthly payment through our loan modification program.  2. You get a job and then we will happily help you refinance your mortgage although you probably won’t need that option since it’s so much easier for everyone to simply modify your current loan.  Or 3. Don’t make your payment, get behind and then HOPEFULLY we can work something out to alleviate the collection calls.
